And so I’ve finally finished this art of Mira that’s been sitting in my WIPs for a long time (like all the others) 😭✨ I wanna draw their partner next but I don’t even have a design for them yet hah
I also developed a love/hate relationship with rendering the color black 🙂
OK so the prints, explanation of:
The gist is this.
I know for a fact that every artist fucking hates dealing with prints because Etsy and Redbubble and DeviantArt and Etsy and whoever rip you the fuck off. The solution we're proposing is... basically do the same thing but cheaper I fuckin guess. We buy a printer, print on demand. You set your prices, we take a flat fee per print, handle the shipping and everything for you.
Not just selling to customers - if you do like. Cons or anything, we can print in bulk at a discount for you, rather than you relying on Costco or whoever else does printing services. Same level of service you get from us otherwise - we manually check it to make sure it's printing right, make sure the cuts are straight, maybe even have a fiddle and let you know if some different colour settings might work better etc etc. We'd be using the printer ourselves as well so like. We're not just printing your stuff on the crap printer in the corner and keeping the best for ourselves.
Sizes would be max 24" wide, or 42" wide depending which printer we get. Full colour, print on demand, ship next day with full tracking.
Depending exactly which printer we settle on we'd need to do 60-120 prints to make it worth buying over outsourcing the printing and 400-800 prints tto actually break even on it, so I want to get a feel for exactly how interested people are in this before I prperly commit, even if we do have internal use cases for it.
As a note - IF this gets a high volume, it might be enough for us to persuade PayPal to work with us. That means the CM would benefit from having PayPal as an option too. It's all about volume and shit.
But. Yeah. this would be the first stage of physical items like we said we wanted to do, with stickers being the next one I guess if it pans out.
Artist: Would you be willing to sell through Waterfall, ideally exclusively?
Everyone else: Would you be willing to buy a print or two every now and then to make this worth it?
Christmas Gift #1
